Jasminium nudiflorum

Jasminum ‘Clotted Cream’

A superb new cream-coloured form of the much-loved common jasmine, but with larger flowers and even more fragrance. This versatile, deciduous climber spreads quickly in all directions, it’s ideal for covering a large south or west-facing wall or an unsightly garden building. To best appreciate the fragrant flowers, choose a site close to a house entrance or well-used path. In small gardens, it is best planted in a pot and trained up a trellis or wall.

Kerria japonica ‘Pleniflora’

A vigorous, deciduous shrub, perfect for brightening a dark corner. It will grow almost anywhere and soon develops into a thicket of tall, graceful stems with suckers growing from the creeping roots. Double, yellow flowers burst out from mid- to late spring which are beautifully surrounded by bright green, oval leaves.

Prefers full sun / part shade and will cope with most soils.

Kniphofia ‘Bees lemon’

A sensation in the late summer garden, this showy perennial attracts bees and butterflies, and is perfect for both city and country gardens. Emerging from lime green buds, the bright yellow flowers open upwards from the base of the spike over several weeks, so the display is relatively long-lived.

In early summer the arching stems of this, deciduous shrub are smothered with masses of small, deep pink, trumpet-like flowers. It makes a graceful backdrop to a sunny mixed or shrub border and can be pruned to be kept smaller.

Lagarus ovatus ‘Hare’s Tail’

This is probably the most appealing of all the ornamental grasses! The name ‘Hare’s Tail’ perfectly accurately describes the creamy-white flower heads, which are hare’s tail-shaped, fur-like and soft to the touch! A short grass with green leaves and a clump forming habit, the fluffy plumes are ideal for adding texture to beds and containers. This grass works especially well with flowers that bloom in late summer and autumn. The ‘tails’ turn to rich tan and dry out beautifully on the plant. You can leave them there – as they make spectacular winter accents.

This cheerful annual has domed heads of small flowers that open yellow before turning orange and pink. The dark green foliage contrasts beautifully with the bright flower colours. Due to their mounded habit, they are ideal for small-space gardens, baskets and containers and flower all summer long.
